Ribbons, carousels & authenticity | Preston Court wedding

Hot damn if there’s a more joyous venue in the UK than Preston Court Wedding I’ll eat my flower crown 💐 From the second Gwawr & Rob dropped me an enquiry email asking when I was available (always my fav kinda enquiry as the ‘I’m already booked on your date ones’ break my heart) I knew this one was gonna be special. They made it clear they weren’t here for tradition and made sure every single decision made had a purpose. Is it fun? Does it mean something? Do we care? Great. Anything else can get in the lake. My favourite decisions:

Margate > Preston Court Weddings

🧡 Getting ready together in the cutest an bnb in Margate
🩷 Hiring an adorable old school car and having a pal drive them to the ceremony as they appeared through the sunroof. Check out this blog on how to make an epic wedding entrace…
🩵 A twist of the Welsh tradition of a Gwahoddwr where guests tied ribbons onto a staff as they sang to Katrina and the Waves ‘Love Shine a Light’
💚 Cutting the cake outside before having a ‘first ride’ on the epic vintage carousel and then gathering around it for speeches (where the sun made a brief appearance!
💛 Opening the barn to an organ show for a relaxed and delicious sharing platter dinner with no seating plan
💜 Listening to live music all day long, from ceremony to sunset

Celebrant Ceremonies That Make You Cry

Shortly after they booked me for photo & film G & R decided to go for a humanist ceremony and found the fabulous @kps_celebrant (who I often rave about on here for her awesome work) and it was such a joy to be able to witness a Kathryn ceremony. Both Trist and I cackled and cried throughout - a theme throughout the whole of this beautiful day. The most joyous and authentic celebration of two incredible human beings whose love is truly infectious. And I could ride that carousel all day long 🎠
