Nine Alternative Ways To Make A Wedding Entrance

So we don’t all have campervans or wrestling belts to make a wedding entrance with, but I love it when my couples get creative with their aisle walks… How fun would it be if we had confetti on the way IN? Or dancing down together to your favourite song? I certainly haven’t seen enough dogs strugging a aisle walk, and I liiiiiive to see a cat!

  1. In your campervan

Pip & Ana’s beloved Vanny was the star of their day (see blog for this beauty of a wedding) and it was the only way they were ever going to arrive to their Lewes wedding. Decked out in banners and bunting, this injected COLOUR into this glorious wedding.

  2. As a Wrestler

Joe walked down the aisle to one of his favourite past times… as the mighty Triple H. Think flame suits, wrestling belts, Triple H entrance music, and finally… the spit of water at the end.

  3. After Your Flower Grandma

After the theatrics of the wrestling entrance came the serenity of the grandmas walking down the aisle throwing flower petals.

  4. Or your flower best man

Luke & Suzi had some spare flower petals they weren’t sure what to do with at their Phuket Destination Wedding, so decided to add a last minute ‘flower best man’ to open up their beach ceremony. The petals fell as London Grammar’s ‘Baby It’s You’ played and giggles were swiftly followed by tears.

  5. In A bubble cloud

This is something that I’m seeing more often and I’m here for it: instead of confetti try bubbles! It’s much kinder to your senses (confetti canons always make me shake in my boots - read this blog on ways to have a neurodivergent friendly wedding), and makes for glorious photos.

  6. To a sing along of angels by robbie williams

We all know the words. We’ve all been there last ones on the dance floor belting out Robbie Williams. One of my most memorable aisle entrances was a few years ago at Jenners Barn in the Cotswolds. nat & Ceri had guests join them in singing the Welsh Man’s Choir version of ‘Angels’, and yes I was singing my heart out with them.

  7. wedding entrance With your dog

More. Pets. At. Weddings. Please (check out this blog on the benefits of having pets at weddings). I absolutely adore having pets incorporated into the wedding in some way. Whether its dogs being walked down the aisle (make sure they’re lead trained) or popping home to be with your guinea pigs (check out this blog on ways to be neurodivergent friendly), pets at weddings are the BEST and everyone loves it.

  8. together (with tears)

I absolutely love it when my couples challenge tradition and go with whatever they want. Walking down the aisle with your Dad is obviously beautiful and incredibly special, but just because it’s tradition doesn’t mean you have to do it. Why not walk down the aisle with the very person you’re all there to celebrate? It can be incredibly soothing to be with your partner in a part of the day that might be incredibly anxiety inducing for a lot of people.

  9. With your mums

Similarly with the above I have nothing against those who want to do the traditional wedding entrance with your Dad, but if you want ideas on how to be alternative, untraditional and simultaneously challenge patriarchy then walking down with your Mum does all that. Read this blog on how to have a feminist wedding for more ideas.
