Colourful, vibrant & fun wedding in Brighton
Char and Alun wanted candid, exciting and fun alternative wedding photography (my speciality), with something that captures their love of Brighton - what they delivered didn’t disappoint! They opted for the All Day Photo & Film Package, alongside a Super 8 Film addition.
While Alun & his groomsmen basked in the sun in their countryside retreat (where they held a post-wedding shindig the next day), Char & her bridal party got ready at their home in Brighton. Getting ready at home provides a familiar surrounding to quell those nerves, but also gave me and Trist an opportunity to snap some candids & natural shots of the things that make their home a home (including an ADORABLE FLOOF).
Hitting the hotspots: Brighton Unitarian Church, Fabrica and The Laines
A short taxi drive later, Char & Alun tied the knot at the Unitarian Church in central Brighton. This was the definition of alternative, personal and non-traditional wedding ceremony: Elton John singalongs, readings about puffins, personal vows, poems written by friends and much more…
After some quick, fun group photos on the steps of the Unitarian Church Brighton (also caught on the Super 8 film), the wedding party walked to Fabrica for the wedding reception. This venue, right in the heart of Brighton lanes, offers a unique wedding experience. The dramatic characteristics combined with the relaxed space offers a ‘blank canvas’ approach, perfect for those non-traditional and alternative wedding photos. Char & Alun injected an abundance of colour to their wedding decorations, making it perfect for candid and natural photos.
For the record...
We knew Char & Alun loved music & vinyl so we tried to incorporate this into their wedding gallery: cue the legendary Cult Records. We managed to escape the hustle & bustle of the wedding for a quick tour of Brighton lanes stopping at some truly wonderful spots. This is where the Super 8 film was in its element:
“Thank you also to both you and Trist for just being such legends on the wedding day. Me and Al said it was just the best thing to catch our breath when we had some photos walking through the lanes. It was one of our favourite part of the whole day/weekend. It felt like we were just in our own little world with two mates in tow.”
Back to Fabrica for speeches, cake cut, more candids and an EPIC dance floor full of confetti cannons, Elton John sunglasses and FUN.
